Bangladesh will take on India in Mirpur on Thursday in the 1st  match of the 3 match series. After the majority of the test match being washed out the tour didn’t begin in an ideal way for both the teams. MS Dhoni will be back with the team to lead them in the ODI series and will be looking forward to place the team back on winning ways. With Shikhar Dhawan in great form, India would be looking forward to a solid start up front along with the support of Rohit Sharma.

The middle order looks solid with Kohli, Raina, Rahane, Dhoni. The all-rounder spot is likely to be filled in with Jadeja and the four bowlers are expected to be: Ashwin, Yadav, Sharma, Kumar. After the controversial quarter-final match in the world cup, this will be the first time that the two teams will go head to head against each other. Besides an opportunity to erase the memories of the World Cup quarter-final debacle Down Under, the prospect of earning a Champions Trophy berth will be motivation enough for the Tigers to roar.

As far as the Indian team is concerned, even a 3-0 result against the hosts will not be enough for the second-placed side to claim the number one spot in the ICC rankings, while a favourable outcome for the home team will boost its qualifying chances for the 2017 Champions Trophy. After rain played spoilsport in the one-off test match things don’t look any better for the 1st ODI in Mirpur as there are predictions for thunderstorms and showers.

With both the teams looking forward to walk out of the bilateral series victorious, rain is likely to play spoilsport in their way.
